2014

Elmton Research Project: Community Archaeology project researching the Medieval village at Elmton, Derbyshire as part of the wider Limestone Journeys project.

Iron Age Hillforts Project: Community Archaeology project that explored the evidence for Iron Age Hillforts and settlement patterns on the Magnesian Limestone ridge of North-east Derbyshire and compared these to similar sites in the Peak District to the west, and the Trent Valley to the south.

The History Of Hurst House: Community Archaeology project researching the WEA building of Hurst House in Chesterfield and its surrounding landscape. We examined early maps and documents, compiled a chronology of Chesterfield from prehistory to the present and conducted geophysics and excavations in the garden.

Researching Roman Southwell: Community Archaeology project researching the Iron Age & Roman landscape of the SOuthwell (Notts) region. We collated past fieldwork results, plotted sites using the HERs, carried out map and documentary work, and undertook some fieldwork including trial excavations.

 

2013
