iDig: Archaeology for the Community

Engage | Enthuse | Enjoy

The iDig initiative is an overarching Community Archaeology platform that aims to bring together different  projects and groups within Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire.

Led by MBArchaeology, iDig encourages people of all ages, backgrounds and interest to get involved in archaeology.

From one-off taster sessions, field visits and Family Learning sessions through to education & training and active field work, iDig is an archaeological resource dedicated to promoting the Council for British Archaeology’s motto ‘Archaeology for All’.

We welcome history or archaeology groups, communities or individuals to get in touch and share their work or discover how they can get involved, so please email us on for more information.
