MBA Walks are full-day field visits that run throughout the summer to sites of historical and archaeological interest. They run between 10.30am – 3.30pm and are priced £15pp unless stated otherwise. For more information on any of these walks contact firstname.lastname@example.org

- Archaeology of the Southwell region – Saturday 18th April, 10.30am-3.30pm
- Archaeology of the Hardwick Estate – Sunday 10th May, 1-4pm
- Archaeology in the Landscape – Saturday 16th May, 10.30am-3.30pm
- Hidden Peak District: the Lumsdale region – Saturday 20th June, 10.30am-3.30pm
- Roystone Grange Heritage Trail – Saturday 11th July, 10.30am-3.30pm
All walks cost £15pp (except the Hardwick Estate walk which is £7.50pp) and require walking boots, waterproofs / sun cream, water and a packed lunch. For the Historic Lincoln trip, lunch can be purchased locally.
Historic Lincoln – Sunday 22nd March, 10.30am-3.30pm
We will be doing a walking tour of Lincoln exploring the Prehistoric & Roman history of the city, as well as discussing the recent work at the Castle. We will also be visiting the museum to hear about artefacts found in the local area.
Meet at 10.30am outside the main entrance to the Cathedral
Archaeology of the Southwell region – Saturday 18th April, 10.30am-3.30pm
A circular walk exploring the archaeology of the Southwell region. Find out about local Iron Age hillforts, Roman camps, Medieval churches and later estates and industrial developments.
Meet at 10.30am at the bus stop directly opposite The Red Lion pub in Farnsfield
Archaeology of the Hardwick Estate – Sunday 10th May, 1-4pm
A leisurely guided walk around the Hardwick Estate investigating the archaeology of the site from prehistory to the present. You will also be able to hear about the recent archaeological investigations at the Medieval village site, Old Duck Decoy and WW2 Camp.
Meet at 1pm at the Information Centre in the Miller’s Pond Car Park.
Archaeology in the Landscape – Saturday 16th May, 10.30am-3.30pm
A full day guided walk investigating the heritage and archaeology of the Limestone Journeys project area in the Bolsover District. We will cover Ice Age caves, prehistoric burial sites, Roman roads and camps and the recent work at the Medieval village site at Elmton.
Meet at 10.30am in the ‘Archaeological Way’ car park at Langwith
Hidden Peak District: the Lumsdale region – Saturday 20th June, 10.30am-3.30pm
A full-day guided walk that investigates the history and archaeology of the Tansley area. Find out about local prehistoric sites, the Romans in Matlock, the industrial mills at Lumsdale and the history of Riber Castle as we explore the landscape of this fascinating area.

Roystone Grange Heritage Trail – Saturday 11th July, 10.30am-3.30pm
A full day exploring the area of Roystone Grange, near Pikehall in the Peak District. Visit the Neolithic tomb of Minning Low, find out about Bronze Age barrows, the site of the Roman and Medieval farms and the Industrial history of the site.
Meet at 10.30am in the Minning Low car park on the High Peak Trail, just outside of Pikehall
