With the start of 2015 many people will have made resolutions to become fitter or more active, to get out in the fresh air, to meet new people or to take up a new hobby. Well, what if you could do all of those in one go? With archaeology, you can!
Over the coming months we have several projects for people to get involved in, including ones on the Civil War, the Romans, Human Remains in Archaeology and Medieval Graffiti. We also have Adult Education courses and talks, plus field visits out to places like the Peak District, Lincoln and Hardwick Hall – something for everyone!
We will also be running practical archaeology courses on prehistoric pottery techniques and production (including having a go at making our own pots!) and one or two exciting new projects for the second half of the year. And we will also be looking to take on a new volunteer in the Spring – ideal for University students or those with basic field experience.
You will also find us at the CBA East Midlands Conference in March, and the Second Nottinghamshire Archaeology & Local History day at the University of Nottingham in June, so do come along and say hello!
