MBA Walks 2014 – #1 Historic Newark

The new season of MBA Walks starts on Saturday 5th April with a full day field visit to the historic town of Newark-on-Trent.

Join us to investigate the Anglo-Saxon defensive settlement and cremation cemetery site, the Medieval castle, St. Mary’s Church with its Danse Macabre imagery and Civil War damage, the heritage conservation area of Millgate and the Civil War earthworks of Queen’s Sconce.

The full-day visit costs £12.50pp and runs from 10.30am-4pm.

Residential trip to the Peak District

Arbor Low Neolithic henge

MBArchaeology are running a three-day Residential trip to the Peak District on 10-12 April, 2014.

We will be visiting several archaeological & historical sites over the three days – join us and see a Neolithic henge and Bronze Age stones circles & rock art, and find out about Ley Lines, the history of the plague village at Eyam and Derbyshire’s famous archaeologist Thomas Bateman.
